ANGELO CRISTOFORO

Angelo Cristoforo is grandma's father. He married Maria Archangel Perta and they had three children. Maria, Michael and our grandmother, Teresa. Angelo owned a mill where they ground flour. The flour was ground by a horse that pulled a round grinding wheel that rode on top of a circular base.

One night, while riding home from the mill during a rain storm, Antonio's horse bolted when a lightning blot struck nearby. Antonio was thrown from the horse onto a large bolder and crushed his chest. He died a few days later; he was 51. Grandma was about 13 or 14 and the year would roughly be about 1900. This left his wife and three children to fend for themselves.
